Sydney Metro Airport Camden Master Plan Approved

Sydney Metro Airport Camden advises the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, has approved the Master Plan for Camden Airport.

“The management and Board of Camden Airport Limited welcomes the Minister’s approval of the Master Plan. Our management team will commence the planning to implement the strategies contained in the Master Plan,’ said Colin Grove, CEO, Sydney Metro Airport Camden.

“As a result of consultation and submissions by the Camden community, as well as outcomes of the Aviation White Paper released by the Minister in December 2010there were minor changes in the Draft Plan submitted to the Minister for approval. The changes the Airport made compared to the Preliminary Draft Master Plan include the following:

  • Commitment to establish a Camden Airport Consultative Committee (CACCF)
  • Commitment to establish Planning Coordination Committee (PCF) involving council and state government
  • Consideration to relevant provisions of Camden Draft LEP 2009
  • Removal of the following potential activities from the Camden Airport Support Zone
    • Bulky goods retailing
    • Child care facility
    • Community care facility
    • Hotel
    • Motel
    • Place of assembly
    • Place of public worship
    • Warehouse

“The Airport has 50 business days to make the Master Plan publicly available via our website or purchase through our management office.

“The Airport will call for expressions of interest in the Camden Airport Consultative Committee (CACCF) in the coming months.

“The Camden Airport 2010 Environment Strategy was approved on 10 May 2010 is available on our website and is a companion document to the Master Plan,” concluded Mr Grove.
