Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown Completes Quickstep Deal

6 May 2011

Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown today announced it has completed the leasing arrangements with aviation manufacturer Quickstep Technologies Pty Ltd.

“The Airport has finalised the leasing arrangements with Quickstep, following the surrender by Boeing Australia of the over 1.8 Ha of their leasehold, including 4370m2 of buildings.  The Quickstep site will border the Milperra Road frontage of the Boeing site,” said Mr Colin Grove, CEO Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown.

“The completion of this deal is great news for the Airport and the local economy.  The addition of Quickstep to the Bankstown Airport precinct complements the existing array of world leading aviation manufacturers.

“The leasing agreement with Quickstep includes a 10 year lease with two by 5 year options over 4,370m2 of building area on Bankstown Airport for use as aerospace manufacturing.

"In February 2011 Quickstep secured a signed a Long Term Agreement (LTA) to manufacture parts for the international F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program over the next 20 years with Northrop Grumman Corporation.

"Quickstep anticipates a local workforce at the site of 150 people.  After an extensive fit out of the premises, the company aims to begin transfer of operations to the site throughout 2012,” concluded Mr Grove.
