Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown Seeks Members for Community Group

Bankstown Airport Limited today is seeking formal applications from interested members from the  airports surrounding communities to apply for selection to its Bankstown Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group.


The role of the Bankstown Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group is to enable stakeholders to be consulted and involvedin issues relating to the development and operation of Bankstown Airport in a constructive and effective manner.

The Airport is inviting interested members of the community to apply for selection to join the Bankstown Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group (BACACG). The Group will be convened by an independent chair. The changes set out in the National Aviation Policy White Paper enables the Airport to seek to broaden the membership base and allow for increased membership of the consultative group for the Airport.

The Bankstown Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group members will serve in a voluntary capacity to assist in identifying and prioritising issues of interest to both the Airport and the community.

The Bankstown Airport Community Aviation Consultation Group seeks to:
  • Identify local issues to be considered during the airport development process.
  • Assist in resolving and prioritising issues based on local knowledge.
  • Present the views of the broader community.
  • Review drafts of development plans and provide comment.
  • Brief the community on the development and operation of the Airport.
  • Table at meetings the views of community-based organisations and the broader community.
